OpenAI の開発支援エージェント Codex は、文脈・ツール呼び出し・成果物・承認・プラン履歴を保持したまま続きから作業できる『スレッド』を中核に持つ。CLI では `codex resume --last` で直近セッションを即再開し、`/fork` で元を無傷のまま会話を分岐できる。デスクトップアプリは新規スレッドを Local / Worktree / Cloud の3モードから選べ、変更を隔離した並行作業を可能にする。
本体作業とバックグラウンドの間で未コミットの変更を移す仕組みが Handoff だ。同一ブランチを複数箇所で同時チェックアウトできない Git の制約を肩代わりする。注意点として .gitignore 対象ファイルは移送されず、Codex 管理の worktree は概ね 直近15件程度 を保持して古いものを自動クリーンアップする(ピン留め・進行中・恒久指定は保護)。
検索面では 0.134.0(5/26) で会話履歴の横断検索、0.135.0(5/28) で過去スレッドを内容と Git ブランチ名込みで検索可能になった。Windows ではネイティブのサンドボックスで動作し、WSL や仮想マシンが不要になる。

Claude codeは、運用設計と自己編集能が弱いので、前工程はCodexになるんですよね…🤣
It's really what the user works best with at this point. Claude 4.8 in Claude Code seems to get my intent better than Codex, and is easier for me to work with to produce value than Codex is with 5.5. But I think the next person would just as legitimately prefer the opposite.
